The day before release, fans were aware that Diablo Immortal would include microtransactions D2R Items. It’s true that the game is free to play, and none of the story content nor the main features are protected by a paywall. Blizzard has to earn money on Diablo Immortal in some way, but it was not clear to what extent the company would make money off what it described as one of the more “ambitious” Diablo game to be released to.
It was widely believed that it would offer premium currency, pay cosmetics, and an event pass, and it has all that and more. What was less clear and what Blizzard hasn’t made clear the significant importance money plays when pertains to advancing your character’s final game and the advantages this gives you over the other players.
The central point of this issue is Legendary Crests and Legendary Gems. You see, not all Legendary Gems identical. Some are extremely unique and powerful. These 5-Star Legendary Gems are far superior to 1or 2 Star Legendary Gems, granting stronger effects, but also higher stats in the form of more Resonance, which can increase the lifespan and damage value of objects.
As an avid player, you’ll want as many of these powerful gems, and at the highest Resonance possible. You should also upgrade them as many times as you can, to further boost their effectiveness. Gems are upgraded through salvaging unnecessary Legendary Gems, and higher quality gems do not just require the scraps of unneeded gems, but also require a plethora different gems of the exact sort for them to upgrade.
The issue is that obtaining the most sought-after and potent gems is only available through Legendary Crests. They’re a premium product that is available for real money. They also guarantee the Legendary Gem of some type will drop if used in conjunction with Elder Rifts buy D2R ladder items. Legendary Crests also offer the chance of a tiny 5% chance to drop a 5-Star Legendary Gem.
