The new expansion – Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is more than new monsters to hunt D2R Items. Daybreak features more difficult hunts for players to take part in and a brand new type of quest that will make solo play more rewarding, and rewrites the core Switch Skills system that combat is built upon.

This results in a more immersive experience which makes the game little more accessible for new players but also provides players with tons of new options to fight that should make hunts even more thrilling.

A few days ago, Capcom provided ComicBook with an in-depth analysis of some of the new content that is coming to Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The trailer showed a team of hunters fighting the new monster Lunagaron which was then followed by one hunter who is participating in a brand-new type of Follower Quest. Lunagaron is a brand new type of monster in this Monster Hunter franchise that resembles something like a wolf and a dragon.

Lungaron appears to be a tough challenge for players. That’s why this Switch Skill system overhaul will prove useful. Prior to this players could switch their Switch Skill during hunts making their weapons more customizable and giving them a range of different playstyles.

With Daybreak players are able to make two sets of Switch Skills and swap between them during battles. It allows players to try different combinations and playstyles in fights. Additionally, players can use the Swap Evade with the switch skill swap to avoid ill-timed monster attacks.

Although multiplayer is the preferred way to play Monster Hunter Rise, the new Follower Quest will provide solo players with a different option for grinding out quests. Follower Quests allow an NPC to join in certain combats while also helping to advance certain sideplots buy D2R ladder items. Capcom has announced that more Follower Quests will come out in the near future, which will allow the NPCs of the game have the chance to shine.
