While Class Change is definitely the star of Diablo Immortal’s latest update, there are new rewards and events also coming D2R Items. There’s a new track for rewards called the Hero’s Journey is being added that will reward players with various items as they complete challenges that grow in difficulty when they get to the higher Paragon levels. There are a variety of new items of legendary status being added to each class with a particular focus on new powers that inflict harm over the course of time.
A brand new event, The Adventurer’s Path, will have participants completing challenges that earn them gold, dust enchanted by magic, and scrap materials. There will be a special portrait frame to be awarded when they complete 16 tasks. They will also receive the legendary crest given to those finishing 20 tasks. The event runs from July 20 through August 30. It’s the Hungering Moon, Diablo Immortal’s first event with a limited time duration will also return from July 29-31.
Last but not least another boss from the raid will be added to the Helliquary. Gorgothra the Claimer will join the ranks on August 2. However, Blizzard hasn’t revealed what Combat Rating players will need to be able to obtain before they can take on his new challenger.
Diablo Immortal, which is free to play, received a lot of criticism when it launched in June for its various microtransactions and “pay-to-win” famous gem system. However, it was said to have earned the equivalent of $50 million in its first month. Blizzard has yet to address issues with how the game is monetized.
The game’s Blizzard its president Mike Ybarra instead defending the game’s model of monetization in a recent interview. Following a backlash over Diablo Immortal, Blizzard has stated that although Diablo IV will have an in-game microtransaction shop, it will be only for cosmetics buy D2R ladder items. Additionally, there is no option to spend real money for in-game power.
