1. Cleaning modes

Like other vacuums in the Shark Navigator series, NV360 has two cleaning modes that are deemed for different uses.

For bare floors or carpets made from delicate materials, you should set the machine to Setting I. The suction power of Shark NV360 at Setting I makes it easy to clean each area within a few passes.

Whereas, in order to pick up pet hair and all kinds of dust that are embedded in the carpets, deep cleaning will require switching the machine to Setting II. If you encounter maneuvering difficulty while cleaning on carpets, reduce the suction power to a more appropriate level. To do that, you need to reach for the control collar located on the handle and rotate it counterclockwise.

2. Brush roll

Shark vacuum NV360 gives you an option to turn on and off its brush roll, so you’d better use it wisely. Brush roll is of great help when it comes to carpet cleaning. However, you should be conscious about the materials of your carpets or rugs. Under no circumstance should you leave the brush roll on when trying to vacuum expensive rugs made from natural fibers because brush roll will ruin it in one sweep. It is also recommendable to turn off this tool during hard floor cleaning or risk experiencing poor pickup and dust scattering.

There is no need to panic in case the NV360’s brush roll has some blockage and stops spinning. The first thing you do is turn off and unplug the device before moving on to remove the base unit’s detached canister. To take out whatever blocks the brush roll, place the vacuum’s head down on the floor with the troubled part facing up. You can use a pair of scissors to assist you in removing anything that is in the way.

3. Filters

Cleaning NV360’s filters is an important routine process. Failing to do so will reduce or snuff out the suction power of your Shark vacuum completely. Between cleaning sessions, you should tap off the dust accumulated on the filters.

The Manufacturer instructs owners of the NV360 upright vacuum cleaner to wash the pre-motor foam and felt filters every 3 months as it gets dirty regularly on the job. The post-motor HEPA filter does not need cleaning as often, only once every 12 months or when you notice restricted airflow. You should only rinse with water and leave those to thoroughly dry before putting them back to their place.

4. Dust cup

NV360 does not come with a big dust cup, so your job is to dump its contents every time you see the debris reach the Max Fill line. Simply press the bottom release button and pat gently when you are holding the cup over the trash. It would also be a good idea to wipe the inside with a soft cloth before reinstalling the dust cup.

5. Overheating problem

There is a motor protective thermostat that monitors the temperature on your vacuum and automatically turns the appliance off when it overheats, usually because the airway is clogged. All you need to do is clear the clog while waiting for the vacuum to cool off in about 1 hour, then your machine should be good to go again.
